V Call Prep

Alrighty Mr/Mrs. Client, that is pretty much everything I need from you but I want to go over a few things with you before we jump on that call. The insurance company’s gonna give you some disclosure and a ton of insurance jargon so just want to make sure we don’t have any questions about that..

So first things first, you’ll be receiving your call from a third party screening company called:

*Freedom Life

*National Foundation

*Enterprise

This is just a third party company hired out by United as well as a few other companies for verification and underwriting, so just a heads up, that’s who you’ll be speaking with.

They’re also going to verify that I sent you an email/screenshare and they’ll ask my name, it’s _______ if you didn’t catch it.

After that, they’re going to go over a few disclosures with you.

  1. This is not Obamacare. This is not through the government or the ACA, this is a private market policy we’re applying for and they just want to make sure you know that. There are no tax penalties for going through the private market.

  2. There is a 1 year exclusion for surgical and hospitalization benefits for PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS ONLY. From our conversation, doesn’t sound like we have any concerns for that, so we should be fine there.

  3. There is a 30 day wait for wellness benefits. This is going to be your annual check ups, any kind of yearly preventative exams. I know it’s a silly rule, but they’re basically just trying to avoid people signing up for coverage, finding out they’re healthy, just to turn around and cancel. So just try to set any wellness exams after that 30 day wait mark.

Once they get through your disclosures, they’re basically just going to review and confirm all the other information we’re submitting here.

*FOR UNDERWRITING*

Now keep in mind as far as medical questions, the only things we listed was _____, and we are a no to everything else. What they’re doing is primarily cross referencing our application with what you say on that call, so if our answers change from what we’re submitted, it’s probably gonna raise some eyebrows.  Remember that these guys are not your friend, they’re going to be looking for anything that could prevent you from being approved. Even saying something like “I stubbed my toe last week”— they may think you need reconstructive toe surgery (Cue client’s laugh: hahaha).

Should be pretty easy breezy. Now assuming we’re approved, I do want to let you know there’s going to be a one time initiation fee of $40 (PA &SA) ($100 HA) (no initiation fee is no association). This is a one time fee, just to cover the cost of mailing cards and paperwork and establishing your account. It’ll go back down every month to follow.

I do offer a referral program to help with that if you’d like. So I’d imagine if you were looking online, you may be getting a million phone calls, which is no fun for anybody. Let’s save our family and friends the trouble, give them my number, I offer free consultation so worst case I point them in the right direction.

If they end up getting enrolled with me, I can offer a $100 bonus through the insurance company for any referrals you send my way!

Now of course, I would not want to ask for any referrals before I let you know that I am going to be your agent through the life of the policy. If you need anything at any point: claims, questions about your policy, need to readjust coverage, just let me know and I’ll be here to kind of walk you through things.

Welp, I’m about out of breath, I know I just threw a ton of info your way, do you have any questions about any of that?

“No”

Perfect, well looks like they’re going to be giving you a ring here at ___, make sure to keep your ringer on. Every once in a while, they’re running behind because the person before you talked about that sinus infection from 4th grade or they may have some technical issues, so if you don’t receive it just let me know and I’ll get you rescheduled. But hopefully they’ll call you on the dot and we can get this all knocked out for you! Let me know how your call goes, hope you have a great rest of your day!
